New Hair Salon Focuses on Pampering, Laughter and Relaxation.
Cheryl Livingston and Beth Fortney are opening a new hair salon, The Loft. Located at 2894-A East Dupont Road, The Loft is a full-service hair salon that is focused on pampering clients. Livingston explains The Loft’s unique concept “Everyone is so busy these days. We want to provide our clients with an uplifting experience. And we want to give them a place where they’ll receive professional service, but in a fun atmosphere, filled with laughter, where they can relax and enjoy themselves.”
With more than 50 years of combined experience as stylists, both Livingston and Fortney were content with their careers. Livingston and Fortney owned and operated Styles, Inc. for over ten years where they built a loyal following of clients. But then, the two friends had an epiphany. Livingston explains, “After I beat breast cancer for the second time, we both realized how important life is. And we wanted to bring more laughter, stability and balance into our professional lives.”
Livingston and Fortney began by transforming Styles, Inc.’s booth rental format into a salon with full-time employees. The change guaranteed consistent service for customers while also giving stylists benefits and security. Livingston describes the 16-months since she began implementing the changes as the most rewarding of her entire career.
Now this trend setting duo is bringing the entire concept to their new endeavor, The Loft. Opening on August 2, The Loft is a full-service salon offering services for women, men and children, as well as skin care, body waxes, massages, pedicures and natural nail manicures. Making the move to The Loft from Styles, Inc. are stylists Megan Kurtz, Janine Hattery, Stephanie Binz, Tina Bailey, Amy Malott, Cassie Dunton, Sophi Patton and Brenda Zemaitis. New additions include Monica Burnham, and Danielle Downey. Skin care services will be offered by Kara Nawrocki.
